There is a sale this week on cruises
Hello everybody! I just got back from a cruise and I had a great time. As you can probably guess, I’ll be sharing all the different ways I saved money on my cruise with a full length article in the next week or two, but first I wanted to share a quick tip with you.
This week there is a big sale on cruises from all the different cruise lines, so if you are thinking about going on a cruise, this weekend is a great time to go ahead and book. Since I haven’t had time to get my article on cruising up yet, I had better share with you what I think is the best way to book your cruise.
I have purchased 2 cruises in my life and both times I found the best price on CruiseCompete.com. How it works is you search for the cruise you want to go on, then you have travel agents bid against each other to see who can offer you the lowest price. I’ll have a full explanation soon, but wanted to get this out there for those wanting to book a cruise before the big sale ends.
This week’s best articles on how to save money
I read dozens of website and blogs on how to save money so that you don’t have to. Here are my favorite articles this week:
Save Big Buying a New Car With Hail Damage– Here is my latest guest article I wrote for ClarkHoward.com. It is the story of how much money my wife saved when she bought a brand new car with a little hail damage.
September Month in Review from The Frugal Optimist- I think it’s time to check in with Nick and Monica’s quest to get out of debt. Remember them? They are the young couple who I convinced not to use the Dave Ramsey snowball method to pay off their loans with this article. They have paid off the first 2 of their 35 loans, and according to my calculations they are about 3 months ahead of their original schedule. Good for them!
AirBnB- The Good and Bad– Here is another article from Monica at The Frugal Optimist. You may remember one of the big hurdles Monica was worried about was not being able to live life and have any fun because they were focused on paying down debt. The good news is that Nick and Monica found a way to finance weekend trips by renting out their apartment on airbnb. You can read about what she thinks about the experience here.
15 Ways To Make Money on Fiverr.com– Fiverr.com is a website that lets you do small tasks for people in exchange for $5. Sounds like a great idea, but what in the world could you do for $5? Ginger from girlsjustwannahavefunds.com has a few ideas for you.
I was Ripped Off by a Nun– May from messymoney.com has a funny story about how easy it is to be fooled by fake charities. Be careful who you give money to, folks!
How to get rid of junk mail (before it arrives)– Junk mail is a waste of time, and the one thing I hate wasting almost as much as money is time. Evelyn from livingonthecheap.com has a long list of resources for getting rid of that darned junk mail.
