As most of you know, 10% of the revenue this website generates is donated to charity. Since it’s the ABC’s readers that generate the money I feel it is only fair that you guys pick the charity.
If you have a charity you would like to nominate, just tell us what it is in the comment section below, or email me at artofbeingcheap (at) gmail.com. After we have a couple nominations there will be an online vote and the winning charity will receive 10% of the revenue generated by artofbeingcheap.com from July 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015.
Any valid charity is eligible, and it doesn’t even have to be a nationwide charity. In December of 2013 ABC readers picked the Boys and Girls club of Manhattan, KS and they received 10% of all revenue for the first half of 2014.
In June of 2014 ABC readers voted for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in Appleton, Wisconsin. In December of 2014, there were no nominations from readers so there was no new winner. Instead, NAMI continued to be the ABC readers charity for another six months.
So that is how easy it is to win, just nominate your favorite charity and there is a pretty good chance they will be getting a check from the ABC.

In addition to the articles you have read here on the ABC, I have written articles in a variety of other places you might have missed.

Is The Dollar Menu Really The Best Deal at McDonalds People HATED this article. They hated it so much that Clark actually talked about how much people hated it on his national radio show, which just about made me sick to my stomach. At least he stuck up for me!
In the article I make it clear that eating at McDonalds is not a healthy choice, but millions of people do it anyway and I wanted to help those people get the best deal for their money. I have since learned my lesson that eating at McDonalds is not socially acceptable, and you should say nothing but negative things about McDonalds when speaking about them. Good to know.
Guide to Switching Your Republic Wireless Plan on Summer Vacation This article on when you might want to switch plans to save a few bucks appeared on RepublicWireless.com’s website. So my articles have been on clarkhoward.com and republicwireless.com. Are there two better money saving institutions than that?
Other articles you will enjoy
I stole this title from Andy Prescott: “Think Twice Before Taking out a 401(k) Loan”. After reading my article about the trouble with 401(k) loans Ginger Kelly added her own thoughts about why 401(k) loans are a bad idea. I had never even considered the effect they could have on a bankruptcy, so I enjoyed this article. I told Ginger she didn’t really have to put my name in the title, and that a simple little footnote somewhere near the bottom would do, but I appreciate the publicity anyway.
How to Save 97% at CVS Without Clipping Coupons: 7 Hacks From a Pro Shopper I used to read hundreds of money saving blogs and post my favorite articles every week. I don’t do that any more, because it just took too much time. More of my favorite articles came from thepennyhoarder.com than any other site, so here is one more article from them for old times sake.
